Quitting smoking is hard. The University of South Florida reports that after attempting to quit, an almost unbelievable 90% of smokers relapse sometime within the first year. While not as typically severe or life changing as quitting smoking, a real commitment to anything can be incredibly difficult on one’s own. As an organization, we have found that while it can achieved alone, a lifestyle of success is so much more within reach when others keep you accountable. Thus, the creation of our very own accountability groups.
It’s easy to procrastinate, to deviate from your weekly plan to just look at a couple of “WHAT’RE THOSE?!” Vines, when by yourself. But sociologists have said time and time again, it is far less easy to underachieve when the knowledge of other’s dependence weighs on you. That is why we believe that while hard to appreciate at first, the knowledge that you’ll have to share the weeks progress come Friday will force you to become more productive. These groups are not at their core for everyone to know what you may or may not be doing, it’s hard enough to run a startup as is, but rather to keep a self-tab while sharing week by week.
Through a personalized match with another individual on your current track, we will make sure to not only match you with an accountability partner but also equip you with how you both can keep track of progress.
Set achievable goals for each other and yourself, and truly be closer to achieving that satisfaction that we all long for when we accomplish what we set out to do. It is easier to take that first step towards your passions, or to start that weird project you have pushed off to the side, when you just have that small push from another.
Mentors are great, but peers are better. They motivate us to do better, they are competition to do more, and they are partners that push us towards greatness.
